Currently a Junior Business Partner in the Nestlé Beverages division, three years into my role, I’ll soon be starting the Nestlé Academy HR Apprenticeship.

I came to the company for its reputation as the world’s biggest food and drink manufacturer, knowing that it would give me lots of opportunities, perhaps even globally! Now, after lots of brilliant experiences, such as my highly rewarding placement in the HR Centre of Competence team, which gave me insight into the strategic side of HR, I’m ready to embark on my Apprenticeship and keep on developing.

My first placement will be in the HR Operations team in York, where all of the behind the scenes operational HR happens. Following my first placement I will then get to be an HR Business Partner (HRBP) in one of our manufacturing sites across the UK. This is where I envisage I will get lots of hands-on HRBP work, which will really help me in my career.

I was surprised at just how friendly and willing to help Nestlé people were when I arrived here, but I’d still say that it’s really important to know you’re aligned with the culture and values of the company before you start here.

The future? Well, I just want to remain within HR and progress into a more senior role and see where it goes from there!

What can you expect?

HR is all about helping to source, develop and motivate the very best people for the Nestlé business. So you’ll become an expert on all things ‘people’. You’ll learn what drives a typical Nestlé employee and what we, as a company, can do to attract them to work here and then get the very best out of them. We will be looking for GCSE’s (actual or predicted) at grades 9 – 4 (or A*- C if received in 2017 or previous), which must include English and Maths, or equivalent level – or have had them predicted.
