Our Packaging Degree Apprenticeship combines four years of study at Sheffield Hallam University with practical experience here at Nestlé—you’ll learn by working with real experts, experience a bit of the student life and emerge ready to progress in a meaningful career.

What the Packaging Apprenticeship Entails

Get ready for an immersive learning experience that will show you how we package iconic products such as KitKat, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Lion Bar, and Aero. You’ll experience the end-to-end packaging process and develop your skills under the guidance of our industry experts.

We’re working towards 2025 as the year we make as close to 100% of our packaging recyclable or reusable and reduce our use of virgin plastic by one-third. 

You’ll learn how we’re changing the way we work and you’ll be invited to contribute your ideas on how we move forward—it’s an exciting time to join us.

Packaging safety, compliance, forming, sealing, 3D printing, CAD drawing, and modelling—by the end of the programme, you’ll have experienced it all and emerge as a fully-fledged professional ready to deliver real change in the way food is packaged.

Who is eligible for the Packaging/PTC Packaging Apprenticeship?

We’re looking for individuals who want a professional career that makes a positive difference in the wider world. You’ll need Maths and English Language GCSEs at grades 9-4 (or A*-C if received in 2017 or earlier). To study with us at Sheffield Hallam, you’ll also need 112 UCAS points, 64 of which from two A-levels or BTEC National qualifications (we accept General Studies and AS-levels). 

Apprenticeship Worker

We can also accept 96 UCAS points from three A-levels (including General Studies) or BTEC National qualifications. Applicants with previous relevant work experience will also be considered.
