Kuber Chawla
Finance Intern, Gatwick

I was born in India, moved to Edinburgh to study Economics and, now, I’m fortunate enough to be working at the York factory, where every single KitKat eaten in the UK is made!

It’s been almost a year since I arrived at Nestlé Academy. I started out as an intern, after which, I was offered the opportunity to return on the graduate scheme. There’s wonderful diversity of people, experiences, perspectives and attitudes. And I learn new ways of thinking, developing ideas and solving problems all the time.

The size of the business was slightly overwhelming, but at the assessment centre, I remember feeling motivated by the collective energy and enthusiasm on display. And, when I joined, that feeling of drive and teamwork continued, which I love being a part of – it’s the part of my job I enjoy the most.

Last year, I had the rare chance to travel to our Girvan factory in Scotland to help redesign their financial reporting as part of my internship. This is where all the milk for our chocolate is produced. There are people who’ve worked for Nestlé for 20 years who’ve never been to Girvan, so it was an honour to get a tour around the factory and see a very beautiful part of the country.

Be ready for a place that’s as challenging as it is rewarding. You’ll be given real responsibility from the start and can make a real impact. It’s much more than just a job. And, like me, you’ll be surprised at just how much attention and care is provided for you as an individual.

What can you expect?

And if you make a big success of your placement, you may be given the opportunity to come back on our Graduate Scheme!

Join us and you’ll:

  • Develop a trade spend Return On Investment (ROI) model

  • Help us to balance share, organic growth and profit across each of our segments and format sizes
Who are we looking for?

In your penultimate year at university, you’ll be confident with numbers and excited by mathematical problem solving, you should also have a strong commercial focus. This will be combined with the ability to turn complex numerical data into reports that are easily digestible to stakeholders who don’t work in Finance. A strong customer service grounding in addition to your numerical skills will be highly beneficial. You should also be willing to work out of our York or Gatwick offices.
